The nickel plating throughout the hilt remains bright, showing minute wear/storage age. The pommel edges are crisp with smooth surfaces and the mortise button is functional and smooth. The grip plates are the black checkered type and in pristine condition. The long version blade is factory bright with crisp edges, tip and spine and completely scratch free.

The engraved panel is on the obverse side while the reverse side is plain. The centre area of the panel has a raised, two line standard remembrance "Zur Errinerung an mein Dienszeit" – "In memory of my time in service". Flanking the remembrance are oak leaves, these separate the end designs from the remembrance thus creating two outer panels.

To the left is an open winged party style eagle while on the right is a drooped-tail Luftwaffe eagle clutching a swastika. The highlights are extremely bright with the background frosting rating at 100% and flawless. The ricasso shows no makers mark, which is quite common. The scabbard shell is straight having mint original black paint. Attached to the scabbard is a high quality medium brown leather frog, this having the two rivet construction and stamped Luftwaffe1943 BERLIN with the eagle and swastika in bold relief. The Luftwaffe troddel or faustreimen shows the colours of the 4th Rifle Company 2nd Battalion. The bayonet, frog and troddel can only be described as mint. This is indeed an outstanding museum-quality bayonet that would suit the most fastidious collector, and would be impossible to upgrade.

This is the model that started it all for Bo Randall back in the forties and has since become a classic and has set the standard for all other fighting knives. The Model 1 has always been one of the most popular and sought after fighters by combat troops everywhere. It is tough, attractively rugged and highly dependable. The Randall quality speaks for itself.

The hand-forged blade is made from the very best 1/4" stock high-carbon tool steel with full tang. The cutting edge, including the swedge, is razor sharp and can be easily maintained with the provided salmon-stone sharpener.

The military style 5" handle is built from compressed washers that are manufactured from the finest grade heavy sole leather, then laminated with waterproof cement, then carefully shaped and highly polished. The added touch of Red, White and Blue spacers set the knife off perfectly.

The pommel is the tough, yet attractive Duralumin that has a special dome-shaped stainless steel locking nut at the end and the brass double guard gives excellent protection for the hand.

The Sullivan sheath is hand-crafted to fit the knife and is made from the very finest oil-tanned saddle leather and provides for the honing stone. The knife has never been used and is in mint condition. So why wait for over five years from Randall when you can have this beautiful knife right now.

This early Army Officer Dagger by Robert Klaas is an outstanding example of the Dress daggers worn by high-ranking 'Heer' Officers. Although Robert Klaas manufactured many military daggers, early models like these - especially in such pristine condition, are very difficult to come by.

The light orange grip is of the solid celluloid type and absolutely flawless in every way - no chips, cracks or even the tiniest of marks blemish this showpiece. The silvering on the pommel and crossguard is 100% and the finely hand-enhanced detailing of the Eagle wings, head, breast, beak and eye are outstanding; the detail to the wreath and raised Swastika are equally impressive. The Dagger is further highlighted by an outstanding 42cm aluminium Army Portapee. This Portapee is in immaculate condition and 100% original.

The pebbled scabbard is perfectly straight and free from any scratches or dents. Plus, the silvering is also 100% complete. The throat is retained by two flat-head screws that remain untampered with. This scabbard has never been cleaned and retains its natural 75 year old patination.

The blade, without a doubt, is one of the highlights of this piece. It has a high quality nickel plating which is mirror bright and flawless. The reverse of the blade is stamped with the renowned 'Kissing Crane' trademark and name of Robert Klaas, Solingen. The leather blade-buffer is as new and sits perfectly within the recess of the crossguard. Overall, the knife carries a beautiful natural patina which can be cleaned if the new owner desires. MINT CONDITION. More high resolution photographs available on request.

These straps have a stylish brocade front with a rich high-pile, field green velvet backing. There is no wear, foxing or Moth tracking anywhere on these magnificent straps. Plus, they have been fitted with the finest quality silvered mounts.

The upper mount is the horseshoe type with raised oak leaves throughout its surfaces. There is a slot at the upper end which would have connected to a snap clip within the uniform. The silvering is close to 100% on this bracket.

At the lower end are overlapping oak leaf decorated oval buckles and slides. These also have most of the original silvering as do the snaps which are the oak leaf decorated push-up deluxe style that function smoothly and perfectly.

Hangers in this condition are indeed a rare find these days and I have no hesitation in classing them as MINT.

CUSTOM F-S KNIFE

The first offering from the Treasure Chest is this beautiful custom-made F-S type Dagger. Who made the knife is a bit of a mystery but we have been led to believe that it may have been Paul Chen. We do know it was made in the USA and the number 010 on the ricasso suggests that originally it could have been part of a very limited edition. Our research so far has failed to discover another example like it. Nevertheless, there is no debating the exceptional quality of this knife, nor the fact that it was made by a first class professional blade-smith.

The knife is unique in the fact that the blackened diamond cross-section high-carbon steel blade has a light damask finish. Also, you will see by looking at the photos, the heavy crossguard has been beautifully and flawlessly engraved. The hilt is the 'coke bottle' shape which typifies this style of dagger. Made from finely shaped leather washers the hilt is further enhanced by the full steel 'collars' at either end, the top one extending into a finely rounded pommel.

The knife is presented in an exquisite felt-lined wooden (possibly maple) display case, which is custom made for the knife. Also, there is a matching Damask belt buckle with the letters FS for Fairbairn-Sykes etched in gold fitted into the box.

All up, the Dagger, Belt buckle and Display case are without a nick or scratch and can be described only as being in pristine condition. In reality, I suspect that the knife has rarely been removed from its fitted case. This is really an exceptional knife that would suit the most fastidious collector.

Overall length is 300mm

There is no need to extol the qualities of Randall Made knives because every collector who knows his stuff is well aware of just how respected the name of Randall is and how well known this brand is for quality.

This particular knife - the Model 2 Fighting Stiletto or, as it used to be known, the No. 2 Commando - is a large knife with lots of extra goodies. It has a five inch Ironwood handle with black spacers and is shaped along the lines of a famous British Commando knife. However, it is larger, much stronger and has a more comfortable grip. The pommel is brass - as is the lugged double-hilt. The knife also boasts a razor-sharp ten inch Stainless Steel double-edged blade. Complete with its Sullivan sheath and salmon-stone sharpener, this is a very impressive knife and one of Randall Made's best.

Manufactured in late 2008, this stiletto is in absolute mint (new) condition. Also, you don't have the 5+ year wait to order this knife.
