Condor History
Although this line of knives are made in El Salvador, Condor Tool and Knives Inc. traces its origin and proud history back to the year 1787, the year that the Gebr. Weyersberg Company was founded in the township of Solingen, Germany. The quality of their swords, military knives and machetes that they manufactured in Solingen soon brought worldwide acclaim to the old German town and helped make Solingen the household name that it is today.
Over the generations the world’s largest manufacturer of swords and knives found it necessary to expand its operations to other countries to better serve its customers. In 1963 the company built a new plant in Santa Ana, El Salvador and filled it with state-of-the-art German equipment. Some of the original employees who were sent back to Germany for training forty two years ago are still working in the factory today turning out the finest quality knives and machetes available anywhere.
Condor Tool & Knives Inc. parent company, Imacasa was formed in the 1980’s when Gebr. Weyersberg decided to sell the Central and South American operations to local investors. Today they are one of the largest machete and knife manufacturers in the world operating 24/7 to fill the increasing demands for their products.
Condor offers a unique range of high quality superbly designed knives and machetes for the military and outdoor enthusiast. A line of bladeware that is made to the highest technical specifications and will last a lifetime.
